David received his MD from the University of Alabama in 1993 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1996. After completing his specialty training in hematology later in his career, David was appointed Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2013. David is Assistant Medical Director for Antithrombotic Therapy at the University of Washington Medical Center. Over the past 20 years, David has been involved in numerous clinical trials and clinical guidelines related to the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disease.
